Project GreenWays Outdoor at Balttour 2016 in Riga

The 23rd International Trave Trade Fair „Balttor 2016” took place at Kipsala International Exhibition Centre, Riga, from 5 – 7 February, 2016.

"Balttour 2016" offered more than 470 exhibition stands and about 850 travel and tourism related companies and representatives from 41 countries. More than 26 thousand people came to get acquainted with the newest and best offers, with 5.3 thousand of them being professionals of the tourism industry and invited guests.

The three-day event gave visitors an opportunity to get information on new travel routes and tourist destinations, enjoyed cultural diversity and the hospitality of Latvia’s regions and found the best travel deals.

In the framework of project „GreenWays Outdoor” Vidzeme Tourisma Association promoted the first-ever made Latvian EuroVelo and Green Ways cycling map. Visitors were very interested in the development of new cycling routes and Green Ways in Latvia and Vidzeme region.

Green Ways in Latvia have already been promoted in Tourism Trade Fairs in Poland, The Netherlands and Lithuania. Vidzeme Tourisma association will participate in Tourism Trade Fairs in Estonia and ITB Berlin in Germany.
